Wednesday Night JKD in Southern California has been going strong for 50 years. Tim Tackett’s garage served as a weekly meeting place for some outstanding martial arts teachers and students during that time. In 2023, Sifu Tackett moved to North Carolina to be closer to family. Senior Full Instructor Jeremy Lynch has taken over the Wednesday night training and continues to teach the same material practiced at Bruce Lee’s L.A. Chinatown school. A typical class lasts for 2 hours and has between 5 and 15 students. It is encouraged that students bring their own training gear consisting of a mouth guard, boxing gloves, and shin guards.
In years past it was not uncommon to find multiple first-generation Bruce Lee students spending time here on Wednesday nights. Sadly, many of these JKD greats have passed away but their teachings live on through their friends, peers, and students Tim Tackett, D.M. Blue, and Jeremy Lynch.
