Growing up in the 1970s and ’80s, Nicolas fell in love with martial arts and boxing at a young age. He idolized Bruce Lee and Muhammad Ali and took up boxing at age 8. At age 12, he practiced Shotokan Karate for several years, winning a Silver medal at the National Championship.
In his mid 20s, Nicolas returned to boxing and karate until he found Commando Krav Maga some years later. At the age of 37, he began training in Jeet Kune Do Concepts under the guidance of Sifu Luca Marinello. He was fortunate enough to attend seminars with Sifu Tim Tackett and Sifu Vincent Raimondi where he felt he found the true essence of JKD.
Nicolas has been training with Sifu Raimondi since 2013 and has participated in and organized several seminars with Sifus Jim McCann, Tim Tackett, Jeremy Lynch and Dennis Blue of the JKD Wednesday Night Group. He has also trained with Maestro Verginelli (Italian Champion in MMA), Sifu Richard Bustillo (R.I.P.) and many more.
